The Hotel 4 Cats: Cat Boarding That Is Truly A Home Away From Home!
We dedicate this week’s cat boarding post to remembering the 9/11 victims and their families. We will never forget that terrible day in our country’s history. We also send a special salute to all the service men, service women and service animals who risked their lives during the recovery period.
Cat Care Tip Of The Week:
Recently I was asked about how much water a cat usually drinks. Research has indicated that cats typically need 2-4 ounces of fresh water in addition to their food.
Did you know that dry food is only 10 percent water? Wet canned food is approximately 80 percent water. Therefore, your cat needs to drink a lot more water if there is only dry food to eat on a daily basis. Whether eating canned or dry food, to prevent dehydration make sure your cat has access to a fresh bowl of water 24 hours a day.
You can rest assured that our cat boarding services includes monitoring of water intake. At The Hotel 4 Cats, we not only provide fresh cold water a minimum of twice a day, but we also adjust to larger bowls if necessary. We take our cat care seriously and will share with you any observations that indicate the potential need for Vet attention.
Click on the link below and see how cats drink water in slow motion – Cats move their tongue to a “J” shape and pull it quickly back into the mouth so a column of water lands in the mouth followed by its tongue. The cat then quickly closes its mouth to prevent the water from falling back into the bowl.
