In September we took in a little three month old orange tabby kitten named Gabriel who had a broken leg. His pictures are attached. After months of being in splints, and hundreds of dollars in vet costs, he still had a problem. The growth plate in one of the bones in his leg was injured and stopped growing and the other bone was growing out of his ankle.
We had two choices, either amputate the leg or operate to shorten and stop the growth of the other bone. Since he could use the leg and walked on it, we chose to try to save it. The operation cost was $947.67!
Gabriel is doing fine and we hope the operation was a success. He now has a cast on his leg and has to stay in a cage for six weeks. Now we need to figure out how to pay the vet bills!!
